日本東京都上野動物園14日公佈大貓熊真真所生下的寶寶近況，據共同社報導，目前，貓熊寶寶體重已超過3公斤，健康狀況良好。而與之前相比，貓熊寶寶在地上爬行和翻身的動作已更加熟練。
據園方介紹，11日，是貓熊寶寶出生第60天，在該天體檢中，貓熊寶寶測得體重為3010.4克，身長43.9公分。據悉，貓熊寶寶每天除數次進食母乳以外，多數時間都在睡覺，體檢時也不時打哈欠甚至睡著。
園長福田豐笑著說：「至今為止比較順利。希望貓熊寶寶越來越有熊貓的魅力，展現出憨憨的模樣。」
此外，上野動物園自7月28日至本月10日通過網絡和園內設置的徵集箱等為熊貓寶寶徵名。據悉，截至10日，光在網路上就收到約25萬份提名。園方計畫在出生百天的9月下旬前後，確定名字並對外公佈。
為提高國產稻米產業競爭力，輔導農民精進栽培技術與提昇品質，竹東地區農會今（8）日舉辦竹東稻米達人冠軍賽─稻米性狀及米質食味評鑑，在嚴格的競爭條件下，由軟橋有機米產銷班班長彭信晃贏得冠軍、獲頒3萬元獎金，並取得參加106年臺灣稻米達人冠軍賽的入場券。
60歲的竹東稻米達人彭信晃去年也奪魁，他表示軟橋地區通風、水質良好，加上堅持不使用化學肥料的有機栽培方式，減低稻熱病的威脅，才讓他成為稻米競賽的常勝軍。
縣府秘書長蔡榮光表示新竹縣是農業大縣，今(106)年有竹東鎮、湖口鄉、竹北市、新埔鎮及新豐鄉等五鄉鎮辦理鄉鎮賽稻米品質評鑑，各地區的冠軍將代表新竹縣參加全國比賽。蔡秘書長認為藉由比賽的切磋，可提昇品質、打響品牌，增加農民收益。

農糧署北區分署蘇宗振署長表示，今年稻米達人競賽的特色是參賽者必須有台灣農產品生產追溯QR CODE，消費者可用二維條碼追溯農民的生產資訊，讓消費者買得安心、吃得放心。蘇署長說，未來將推動四章一Q（吉園圃、CAS台灣優良農產品、有機蔬果、產銷履歷和生產追溯QRcode.），提高台灣農業競爭力，拓展外銷機會！
竹東農會總幹事鄭杏桃說，今年度竹東鎮1期稻作面積為340公頃，共有9位農友報名參賽，參賽品種為桃園3號及台梗14號。來自農糧署北區分署、桃園農改場、新竹縣政府６評審委員，於稻作抽穗期至黃熟期間辦理田間檢查，審視田間生育狀況，包含生育整齊度、異品種、病蟲害、充實狀況及合理化施肥情形等，評選出田間管理良好之參賽者通過初審。
通過初審農友須繳交稻穀2公噸，由農糧署北區分署及評審委員代表、農戶代表會同公開取樣，依CNS穀類檢驗法檢驗，結果有５位符合標準的農民參加８日食味官能品評及外觀性狀評分。評審項目及標準包括：外觀性狀之米粒飽滿度、粒型均勻及光澤度，官能品評包含白米飯之外觀、氣味、口感、黏彈性、硬性等。竹東稻米達人冠軍賽第２名是彭正福、第３名彭英雄。
